About the NCC Wing

Building character, comradeship, the spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service among the youth of our college.

The College has an active NCC Army Wing. During the session 2021‑22, a total of 160 cadets were enrolled in the Army Wing, 59 cadets in the Naval Wing and 43 cadets in the NCC Girls Wing. The Wing actively participates in national-level camps, parades, social outreach drives, sports events and cultural festivals throughout the year.

BLC
Basic Leadership Camp (BLC) — Malout, Punjab

An 8-day camp organised by 6 PB (G) BN NCC Malout, NCC GP HQ Ludhiana from August 20–27, 2022. L/CPL Chetan Somai, L/CPL Amandeep, Cdt Nitin Rana and Cdt Pardeep Singh participated, winning Gold in Group Dance and Silver in Skit.

ALC
Advance Leadership Camp (ALC) — Malout, Punjab

A 12-day camp held September 7–18, 2022. L/CPL Chetan Somai, L/CPL Amandeep, L/CPL Rishu Mishra and L/CPL Ankit Dahiya represented the Chandigarh Group, which stood 1st in Skit, Dance and Singing.

Independence Day
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav — 75th Independence Day

Cadets joined Prabhat Pheri on August 12, 2022 to encourage display of the National Flag. Many staff and students uploaded their selfies with the flag at harghartiranga.com from August 13–15, 2022, and the Independence Day was celebrated with flag hoisting on August 15.

10 km Running Competition

20 cadets participated in the 10 km run organised by 2 CHD BN NCC at Bougainvillea Park on August 15, 2022 to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Punit Sagar Abhiyan
Punit Sagar Abhiyan — Sukhna Lake

48 cadets participated in the lake-cleaning drive on August 21, 2022 conducted by NCC Group Chandigarh. Hon'ble MP Mrs. Kirron Kher graced the occasion as Chief Guest. A further 14 cadets participated again on September 28, 2022.

Yoga Day
International Yoga Day

About 240 cadets from various schools and colleges attended the yoga session organised in our college by NCC Army Wing in collaboration with NCC Girls Wing under the aegis of 2 CHD BN NCC and MGNCRE, Ministry of Education, on June 21, 2022.

Awareness
Neon Run — Anti-Drug Awareness

40 cadets participated in NEON RUN organised by the Narcotics Department, UT Chandigarh on June 20, 2022. Hon'ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Yoga Session
Yoga Session & Poster Making Competition

A yoga session was organised in association with NCC Naval and NCC Girls Wing on May 23, 2022, along with an Intra-College Poster Making Competition on the theme "Yoga for Well-Beings".

Tracking Camp — Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh

Cdt Vikas, Cdt Rohit Kumar and Cdt Shivam Kumar Maurya joined the camp held May 21–28, 2022 by Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh NCC Dte. Cdt Rohit Kumar's team secured 2nd position in Tug-of-War.

ATC
Annual Training Camps (ATC)

A 7-day ATC at NCC Academy, Ropar (Sep 9–15, 2021) saw 18 cadets participating; UO Jeevnesh Kaushik secured 3rd in Public Speaking. A 5-day ATC at PGGC Sec-11 (Nov 8–12, 2021) had 26 cadets — Cdt Pradeep Sharma captained the football team and was appreciated for discipline.

Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)

A 5-day CATC organised by 2nd CHD BN NCC at GMSSS Sec-47 from December 13–17, 2021 with 13 cadets from our college.

SGT Mahinder Singh attended the Gujarat Naval Unit camp (Apr 12–17, 2021); UO Yogesh Sharma attended the Group HQ Ambala camp (Aug 23–28, 2021); CSM Madhav Gautam attended the Group HQ Ludhiana camp (Sep 20–25, 2021).

Directorate Combined Annual Training Camp (DCATC)

SGT Himanshu attended DCATC at NCC Academy, Ropar from November 18–27, 2021 and successfully completed it.

RDC
Republic Day Camp (RDC)

SGT Himanshu attended Pre-RDC-I (Nov 28–Dec 7, 2021) at NCC Academy, Ropar, was selected for Pre-RDC-II (Dec 8–17, 2021) and completed it successfully.

Cdt Ekrar Ahmad, Cdt Himanshu, Cdt Sahil, Cdt Rohit and Cdt Prajwal participated in the Independence Day Parade on August 15, 2021.

SGT Himanshu participated in the Republic Day Parade held at Parade Ground, Sector 17 on January 26, 2022.

First Aid Training Camp

Cdt Ekrar Ahmad and Cdt Rohit Kumar participated in the camp organised by Dean SA and Indian Red Cross Society from September 14–17, 2021 in our college.

Outreach
NCC Day Celebration — Chaomajra Village

NCC Day was celebrated jointly with the Girls and Naval units at Chaomajra Village on November 28, 2021. Tree plantation and a cleanliness drive were organised together with the Village Panchayat and Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee. 30 cadets participated.

Workshop
Artists Workshop — KALAKUMBH

Cdt Aman Kumar, Cdt Ashish Kumar and Cdt Amardeep Singh participated in the workshop organised by the National Gallery of Modern Arts, Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Chitkara University, Punjab from December 25, 2021 – January 2, 2022.

Swachhata
Pan India Swachhata Abhiyan

NCC Army Wing participated on October 29, 2021. Cadets actively performed a Nukkad Natak to raise awareness against using plastic items.

Visit
Police Lines Visit — Horse Riding Show

41 cadets visited Police Lines, Sector 26, Chandigarh for the Horse Riding Show on March 15, 2022.

Shooting
Rifle Shooting (25m)

47 cadets participated in rifle shooting at the Firing Range, Sector 25, Chandigarh on March 21, 2022.

Fit India
Fit India 2.0 Running

6 cadets participated from August 18 – October 2, 2021. Cdt Sujeet secured 1st position and Cdt Parmod secured 3rd position for running through the period.

Awareness
Eat Right Meal & Walkathon

5 cadets participated at Sukhna Lake Club Ground and joined the walkathon from Rock Garden to Sukhna Lake Club on May 15, 2022, organised by the Food Safety Administration, Health Department, Chandigarh.

Cultural
Mime at Youth Festival

SGT Ekrar Ahmad performed Mime at the Youth Festival held November 27–30, 2021, organised by PGGC, Sector 46, Chandigarh.

Marathon
Marathon & Walkathon — Panjab University

50 cadets participated on April 22, 2022 at Parade Ground, Panjab University, organised by the Department of Defence and National Security Studies. Cdt Raj Kumar secured 2nd position in 5 km running.

Yoga
Online Yoga Pledge

87 cadets took the online pledge to integrate and encourage yoga through life on May 2, 2022.

Annual Training Camp — 2nd Year Cadets

A 3-day ATC at ISDSSS, Sec 21-C, Chandigarh from February 9–11, 2021 with 48 cadets. The College bagged 1st position in Tug of War. Cdt Yogesh Sharma and Cdt Vaibhav participated in piloting.

Annual Training Camp — 3rd Year Cadets

A 5-day ATC at GMSSS Sec 47 from February 1–5, 2021 with 48 cadets. The College bagged 1st in Tug of War and overall 1st position.

Cdt Sahil Kumar attended Camp-IV (Odisha Dte, Oct 1–6, 2020); Cdt Deepak Sharma attended Camp-V (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Andamans Dte, Jan 25–30, 2021); Cdt Lalit Mohan Singh attended Camp-VI (TN, P&A Dte, Mar 22–27, 2021); Cdt Mahinder Singh attended Camp-VII (Gujarat Dte, Apr 12–17, 2021).

Directorate Combined Annual Training Camp (DCATC)

Held at NCC Academy, Ropar from November 20–29, 2020. UO Sankar Mandal, UO Kabir Bhalla, Cdt Sanjay Kumar Singh and Cdt Jeevnesh Kaushik attended.

RDC
Republic Day Camp (RDC) — Delhi Cantonment

UO Sankar Mandal, UO Kabir Bhalla and Cdt Sanjay Kumar Singh joined RDC at DG NCC, Delhi Cantonment (Dec 20, 2020 – Jan 29, 2021). UO Kabir Bhalla was selected 2nd-in-Command for the Rajpath Parade; both he and UO Sankar Mandal took part in the Rajpath Parade and PM Rally. Cdt Sanjay Kumar Singh participated in the All India Guard of Honour. PHHP&C Directorate bagged 2nd position in PM Rally and 5th overall.

Cdt Lalit Mohan Singh, Cdt Sahil Kumar, Cdt Sumit Malik and Cdt Yogesh Sharma participated in the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2021.

EBSBC-I
Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat Camp-I — Amritsar

Held June 4–15, 2019 with 20 cadets representing Chandigarh. SUO Himmat Singh, SGT Manish Pandey and Cdt Navdeep Singh joined; SUO Himmat Singh commanded the Chandigarh contingent. Chandigarh bagged 1st in Cultural Event, 2nd in Volleyball, 2nd in Debate and 1st overall.

IMA
IMA Attachment Training Camp — Dehradun

Organised by UK Directorate with IMA Dehradun from June 12–23, 2019. UO Biswas Negi cleared the tough selection to represent Chandigarh NCC Group, became the best shooter in the Basketball tournament and bagged a bronze medal in rifle shooting.

ATC
Annual Training Camp — PGGC Sec 11

10-day ATC from June 24 – July 4, 2019 with 48 cadets among ~400 from 10 colleges. The College bagged 2nd in Volleyball, 3rd in Tug of War, 3rd in Drill and 3rd position overall.

Basic Leadership Camp (BLC) — Malout

Held August 17–27, 2019. Cdt Jatin Kumar attended and commanded the Army Contingent of Drill.

Scuba Diving Training Camp

Organised at Swimming Pool, NCC Group HQ on September 5, 2019. UO Biswas Negi and Cdt Jatin Kumar attended.

ALC
Advanced Leadership Camp (ALC) — Malout

Cdt Ankit Thakur, Cdt Parkash Kumar and Cdt Ritish Rohta attended from September 19–28, 2019.

SSB
SSB Screening Course — NCC OTA, Kamptee

Held September 16–25, 2019. UO Nikhlesh Chander Parashar was selected from a national pool — only 89 cadets across India and 7 from PHHP&C Directorate qualified.

Army
Army Attachment Camp — Chandimandir Cantonment

Held November 1–15, 2019 with 6 Sikh Li. UO Ajay Singh, SGT Sanjay Singh, CPL Ravi, Cdt Yogesh, Cdt Aman Kumar, Cdt Pritpal Singh, Cdt Ashwani Kumar, Cdt Manjeet Singh, Cdt Sanjeev Kumar and Cdt Nikhil Kumar participated. UO Ajay Singh was selected Camp Senior, secured 1st in Shooting and was appreciated as Overall Best Cadet.

Shooting
Inter-Group & Inter-Directorate Shooting Competitions

CQMS Aayush Soni bagged 2nd prize in 3P Shooting at the Inter-Group competition (Ropar, Jun 1–10, 2019) and qualified the 10m Air Rifle round at the Inter-Directorate competition (Asansol, Aug 12–27, 2019). The 19-member PHHP&C team secured overall 2nd position.

TSC
Thal Sainik Camp (TSC)

Cdt Himanshu cleared Pre-TSC-I to IV at NCC Academy, Ropar (Jul 31 – Sep 15, 2019). CQMS Aayush Soni was directly selected into Pre-TSC-III for his shooting performance and joined the 91-member PHHP&C team for All India TSC at Delhi Cantonment (Sep 17–27, 2019), winning 2nd in Shooting and 2nd in Bhangra. The directorate bagged overall 1st in AITSC.

CATC
Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) — Ropar

Held November 25 – December 4, 2019. UO Nikhlesh Chander Parashar, CSM Ajay Kumar and SGT Ashish Rana attended with 15 other cadets. CSM Ajay Kumar was selected Camp Senior.

Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat Camps-II

Cdt Kartik & Cdt Arjun joined the camp at NCC Academy, Ropar (Jan 13–24, 2019). CSM Ajay Kumar attended the Karnataka camp (Jan 16–27, 2019), where the directorate team got 3rd in Volleyball. Cdt Jigmat Dorjey participated at the Delhi camp (Jan 18–29, 2020) and performed well in Bhangra.

Directorate Combined Annual Training Camp (DCATC)

Held at NCC Academy, Ropar (Nov 2–11, 2019). Cdt Rajat Kaushish, Cdt Kabir Bhalla, Cdt Himanshu, Cdt Ajay Sethwal, Cdt Sumit Verma, Cdt Amol, Cdt Shankar Mandal and Cdt Jigmat Dorjey participated.

RDC
Republic Day Camp (RDC) — Delhi Cantonment

Cdt Himanshu and Cdt Amol cleared all four Pre-RDC stages at Ropar (Nov 12 – Dec 28, 2019) and joined RDC at DG NCC, Delhi Cantonment (Dec 30 – Jan 30, 2020). Cdt Amol was selected Senior of the Cultural Team and NIAP; PHHP&C Directorate bagged 2nd in NIAP, 5th in Line Area, 10th in Cultural, 12th in PM Rally, 15th in Flag Area, and was the Banner Holder for outstanding overall performance.

19 cadets attended a lecture on career counselling on April 8, 2019 at NCC Gp HQ, 31-D, Chandigarh.

Sports
SAMAVESH 2.0 — Panjab University

40 cadets participated April 11–12, 2019, securing 2nd in Tug of War. Cdt Karanvir Singh got 2nd in 200m race; Cdt Amol, Cdt Karanvir, Cdt Sachin and Cdt Lalit Pandey got 3rd in 4×100m relay.

Yoga
International Yoga Day — PGGC Sec 11

45 cadets participated on June 21, 2019.

Awareness
Traffic Awareness Drive

31 cadets participated in a 10-day awareness drive (Jul 30 – Aug 9, 2019) against motor vehicles plying on cycle tracks, with Traffic Police, Chandigarh.

20 Years of Kargil Victory

5 cadets joined the celebration at DAV College, Sec 10 on July 12, 2019; 45 cadets joined the in-college celebration of "20 Years of Kargil War (OP Vijay)" on July 18, 2019.

6 cadets participated on August 15, 2019. Army Wing Boys secured 1st position in the parade.

World Car Free Day

12 cadets joined the celebration on September 22, 2019, taking part in a cycle race from Sec 17 to Zirakpur and back.

World Spinal Cord Injury Day Rally

35 cadets participated in the awareness rally from Sec-17 Plaza to Spinal Rehab Center, Sec 28A on September 5, 2019.

Swachhata
Mega Swachhata Pakhwada

About 70 cadets joined a quiz and painting competition on September 18, 2019 in the College. On September 26, NCC Army Wing — with Naval Wing and Dharat Suhavi Environmental Society — organised a mini-workshop on waste segregation. Mrs Neelam Gupta of Jan Shiksha Sansthan was the guest speaker; ~100 cadets and 20 students attended. Sponsored by the Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration.

Anti-Pollution Diwali Rally

68 cadets joined a mega rally on October 22, 2019. About 300 students from different schools and colleges participated. The rally route went from Sukhna Lake to our college premises.

10 cadets donated blood at Moti Ram Arya School, Sec 27A on November 23, 2019.

Communal Harmony Campaign Week

About 50 cadets observed Communal Harmony Campaign Week (Nov 19–25, 2019). A short quiz and discussion were organised on November 22; on November 25, ~40 cadets observed Flag Day for Communal Harmony, raising voluntary contributions for the National Foundation for Communal Harmony.

About 40 cadets observed Armed Forces Flag Day on December 6, 2019, raising voluntary contributions for the Zila Sainik Welfare Association.

Army Day Celebration

55 cadets celebrated Army Day on January 15, 2020 and watched the movie 1971 for motivation.

Awareness
Road Safety Awareness Programme

Organised on January 16, 2020 with Traffic Police, Chandigarh. About 60 cadets attended a presentation and quiz; UO Biswas Negi was among the prize-winners.

Republic Day Parade — Sector 17

10 cadets participated on January 26, 2020. Cdt Sumit Verma was the Contingent Commander for the Army Wing; the contingent secured 2nd position in the parade.

National Voters' Day

51 cadets joined the celebration organised by the Electoral Literacy Club of the College on January 25, 2020.
