A pillar of innovation, research, and education — empowering students to lead the frontier of biotechnological advancement through rigorous curriculum, ground-breaking research, and world-class laboratory training.
Where rigorous curriculum meets cutting-edge research — preparing the next generation of biotechnologists.
Welcome to the Department of Biotechnology and Microbial Biotechnology — a pillar of innovation, research, and education established in 2006. We believe in empowering students to lead the frontier of biotechnological advancements through a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum, unparalleled research opportunities, and a teaching faculty recognised for ground-breaking contributions in their respective fields.
Our department offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including B.Sc. (Honours) Biotechnology, B.Sc. Biotechnology (Elective), M.Sc. Biotechnology, and M.Sc. Microbial Biotechnology. These programmes are designed to imbue students with the essential knowledge and skills required to navigate the constantly evolving field of biotechnology.
As a department, we are deeply invested in fostering a research-oriented culture. Students are encouraged to engage in projects of their interest, present findings at seminars and conferences, and publish their work in scientific journals. A significant number of our students go on to qualify for UGC(NET)/CSIR entrance tests and are admitted into prestigious PhD programmes.
From foundational undergraduate honours to specialised postgraduate research programmes.
