The DJMC curriculum balances generic foundation papers — communication skills, fundamentals of IT, soft skills, editing — with core journalism skill papers covering reporting, mass communication, basics of computers, graphics design, new media technology, and electronic media. A compulsory one-month media-industry training capped by a viva-voce closes the year.

Hands-on Learning

Five of the eight core journalism papers (Reporting, Mass Communication, Basics of Computers, Graphics, New Media Technology and Electronic Media) carry a practical assessment alongside theory — ensuring every concept is tested in the field, in the studio, or in the lab. Students prepare news clippings, dummies, blogs, online news packages, and DTP layouts as part of regular file work.
