WebOPAC

WebOPAC — Online Catalogue
Online Catalogue

Search the library — anytime, anywhere

The Web Online Public Access Catalogue (WebOPAC) is the online face of the library catalogue. It lets students and faculty search the College library's collection — books, journals and other holdings — from any computer or mobile device.

Search by Subject

Browse holdings by subject heading or keyword.

Discover by reference, journals, CDs and special sections.

See whether a title is on the shelf or already issued.

Behind the Scenes

Powered by SOUL

The College library is fully automated using SOUL (Software for University Libraries) — a UGC-recommended library management system developed by INFLIBNET. SOUL maintains the cataloguing, circulation and reporting backbone of the library; WebOPAC is its public-facing search interface.

How to Search Effectively

  • Start with a single keyword — narrow down using author or year filters
  • For a known title, search by exact phrase in quotation marks
  • For broad reading lists, browse by subject heading
  • Note the call number on the result page — this is the location of the book in the library

For Postgraduate & Research Users

WebOPAC is especially useful for project work, dissertation reading lists and literature surveys — allowing systematic searches across the entire library collection from a single screen.

Need help? The library staff is available during library hours to demonstrate WebOPAC and assist with advanced searches. New students are introduced to WebOPAC as part of the library orientation programme each session.
